Hi, I'm Jimena.
I'm a Peruvian designer and illustrator based in Barcelona. My work moves between research, technology, social impact and visual storytelling.
I'm interested in how people interact with the systems around them — and how design can make those systems more accessible, meaningful and human.
Design & Research
I work with international organisations, NGOs and public institutions to navigate complex challenges, shape strategies and design products, services and interventions grounded in research.
My experience spans behavioural design, digital transformation and AI, from developing evidence-based interventions addressing gender-based violence to designing knowledge systems for the Inter-American Development Bank.
I bring together research, systems thinking and hands-on design to connect people's needs with institutional goals.

Illustration & Visual Storytelling
Alongside my design practice, I create illustrations inspired by everyday life, memory, nature and human relationships.
I work with watercolour, ink, pastels and printmaking, exploring the space between observation and imagination.
My work has been exhibited in Peru and Barcelona, and in 2020 I self-published my first illustrated book, Retratarlas.
A little background
Originally from Lima, I studied Communication Sciences at Universidad de Lima before moving to Barcelona, where I completed a Master's in Design for Emergent Futures at Elisava and IAAC, followed by a Postgraduate in Creative Illustration at EINA.
My work has taken me across disciplines and geographies, from co-founding a branding studio in Latin America to designing services and digital products for international organisations.
